“It was a critical time at a moment when we were just starting our own design studio. Showing at Greenhouse meant to us an important examination of weather our vision was right or wrong”

Afteroom is a Stockholm based design studio. Founded and directed by Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei since 2011, the mission is simply to create beautiful products which will add value over time – design to grow old with. The inspiration derives from an intriguing interest of forms, senses, proportions, materials and cultures. The philosophy pivots around simplicity and honesty.

Afteroom first showed at Greenhouse in 2013. They showcased the prototypes Afteroom Chair and Tea Caddy, and self-produced products Mini Velo, Apron and Tê Timer.

The Afteroom Chair has been a bestseller with MENU since the launch in 2012. The studio has designed a wide range of products for MENU and also collaborates with for example Reform.

GamFratesi

GamFratesi

“Greenhouse was a great platform to show our projects for the first time. It was very important because we had the opportunity to meet people and companies and to get in contact with our first manufacturer to start a collaboration.”

GamFratesi’s design takes its creative drive from a fusion of tradition and renewal and in an experimental approach to their chosen materials and techniques. With their dual traditional background, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw on the classic Danish furniture and craft tradition as well as the classic Italian intellectual and conceptual approach.

The studio has received significant awards and 2014 they were invited as Guest of Honour at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. Their work has been shown in many exhibitions around the world and they collaborate with numerous international companies including Cappellini, Hermès, Gebruder Thonet Vienna and Kvadrat.

GamFratesi first showed at Greenhouse in 2007. They exhibited two lounge chairs which the year after went in production with the Swedish company Swedese.
